The Mission District, whose origins are older than San Francisco itself, is known for its vibrant blend of art, music, Latino culture, and a community of folks who love their pets. Named for the Mission Dolores Basilica, built in 1776, “the Mission” is situated in the heart of the city where old-school taquerias and colorful street murals mix with trendy eateries and upscale retail shops. It also has its own unique microclimate, which means it’s often warmer and sunnier here, particularly on San Francisco’s famously foggy days. Most of what the Mission has to offer is easily accessed from SAGE San Francisco and our nearby pied-a-terre (aka apartment ) that we reserve for visiting doctors.
